  235. should look for clisp-e.arc and examples.zoo in %ftp/atari/languages.

  373. There are two CPXs I'd like to have.  I don't know if these have
  374. been written, and if they're available, as archie searches are
  375. difficult without a filename.  If these exist, and are available for
  376. anonymous ftp (or mail server, as our name server isn't working yet so
  377. I can't use Terminator) please tell me.

  379. 1.  Disk step rate control.  I have one 5 1/4" drive and one 3 1/2"
  380. drive, and I'd like to set a 6ms step rate for the 5 1/4".
  381.  
  382. 2.  Boot up control.  I'm currently using a desk accessory and auto
  383. program called Autoload which loads AUTO programs from a list, so that
  384. they don't have to be in the AUTO folder of drive C.  Is there a CPX
  385. based version of the same trick, to save slots?

  450. You didn't mention what model of ST or what version of TOS you're using.
  451. >From your description, I'll bet lunch that the TOS version is < 1.4.
  452. Old TOS converts .TTP arguments to upper case. That won't work with
  453. ZOO. (If you were using a command interpreter shell, such as Gulam or
  454. Mupfel, you would not have a problem.)

  456. I'm mailing you, separately, a copy of ZOOSHELL that is archived with
  457. ARC.TTP. You should be able to extract it using any version of ARC, and
  458. then ZOO should be easy to use.

  475. using jrd's gnu-emacs on a mega2 under a gulam shell we
  476. got the following problems
  477.  
  478. - It is impossible to enter characters like \ [] {} a.s.o.
  479.  
  480. - it is not possible to start a shell running as a subprocess.
  481.   After setting ESHELL to d:gu.prg (i use gulaem as cli
  482.   and set everything like you wrote in readme.jrd
  483.   and entering M-x shell i got
  484.   symbol's definition is void: get-buffer-process
  485.  
  486. If anyone knows how to overcome these problems, or where to
  487. get 18.57 for the atari i would be glad to receive your
  488. answer as e-mail.

  506. I'm still looking for software to drive a generic SCSI tapedrive through
  507. an ICD host adapter.  My last query to the net turned up a bunch of
  508. responses referencing a TSR and backup application written by Paul
  509. Moreau, but alas, none of the people that had a copy were willing to
  510. ship it to me, and nobody seems to know where I could get hold of
  511. sources for it.

  513. Does anybody have sources for this thing, or anything else that's able
  514. to talk to SCSI devices?  A related question; is the panarthea archive
  515. server still in business?  I can't seem to get a response from it
  516. recently.  Is there another place that archives comp.sources.atari?

  554. The trick I use on such occasions when my HD isn't switched on is to open two
  555. windows. One with the archive and archiver and the other empty to receive the
  556. data. Make the empty drive the active window and so the current directory.
  557. Hold down the right hand mouse button and double click with the left button on
  558. the archiver. This allows you to start up an application from the non-active
  559. window. Specify the exact path, including drive, to the TTP commandline then
  560. press return. Some experimentation with RAM disc size may be necessary.

  588. called "RealTime" that gives you virtually unlimited number of tracks
  589. (you run out of tracks when you run out of memory) and lots of unusual
  590. and interesting features.

  593. products (including 'M', the interactive composing tool), and is now
  594. offering a closeout on RealTime if you order directly from them.  It

  596. a copy, and while I will continue to use KCS Omega as my primary sequencer,
  597. RealTime offers some interesting options and variation for those times
  598. when I want to experiment or be a little more 'spontaneous' than I can be
  599. with KCS.

  713. I have a 9600 dialup connection to a decserver and connect to a sun
  714. at work, and I have a few things I have to do to get zmodem to work.
  715. First I call up and connect to the server, then I connect to the sun.
  716. After I am logged in I go back to the server and set the session to
  717. passall.  I go back to the session and then run zmodem like so:
  718.      sz -w 2048 filename.ext
  719.  
  720. It works fine for me..  I get an average throughput of 1100 cps....
